Arezzo, founded by the Etruscans and at one time one of their most important
settlements, is the Tuscan City of Gold. The weath of the city is based on the numerous jewellers and goldsmiths, with a useful fallback being the antique shops for which Arezzo is famous.
The town fans out from the top of the hill , the oldest part of the city, going down towards the more modern and businesslike lower town.
